This painting of Wiggley’s Waterhole, just north of Alice Springs, captures the stillness of the serene morning I visited. Only 10 days prior a flood rushed through here, almost sweeping a local family downstream. On this day there was a cloudless sky and hardly a breeze, enabling me to immerse in the process of painting en plein air.
